Miller children on the 4th of July 1963 on the home farm 5 miles east of Bloomfield, now owned and operated by Jens Scarpholt. Those present were Samuel Miller and family of Wolford, North Dakota, Nathan Miller and family of Miles City, Montana, Mose Miller of Pistol River, Oregon, Sadie (Miller) Kauffman and family, Ezra miller and family, Daniel Miller, Clara (Miller) Scarpholt and family all of Bloomfield also an aunt and a number of cousins. The program was given in the afternoon, several vocal and instrumental numbers were given also some speeches were made. Mose Miller told how the D.F. Miller and Eli Chupp families in 1904, traveled in covered wagon from the Turtle Mountains area in northern North Dakota to Snowden where they crossed the Missouri River on a ferry and up the Yellowstone Valley to the 13 Mile Creek and on to where they settled. He and Ammon Chupp, only 8 year old boys, rode horseback and drove their herd of cattle and horses all the way. Mose Miller told how a Post Office was established and was called Adams, then in 1908 it was moved to a store 5 miles farther west. There the name was changed to Bloomfield Post Office.
