M. (Elizabeth) Galloway, 88 of Roy died at St. Joseph's hospital Sunday at 9:45 p.m. In failing health for the past year and a half. She had been confined to the hospital for the last three weeks. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Creel Funeral with the Rev. C. M'. Orner officiating. Burial will be in the Lewistown cemetery beside the grave of her husband. Elizabeth McBride was born in Iowa April 1, 1859, moving with her family to Kansas in 1875 where she taught school. She was married to J. M. Galloway in 1880. They moved with their family to Roy In 1913 where they settled on a homestead. The family has lived there since that time. Mr. Galloway, and a son William, and daughter Mrs. Mabelle Peoples preceded her in death. Surviving children are Miss Gene Galloway of Roy and Mrs. Carrie Belle Daniel of Billings. Other survivors are five grandchildren one great-grandchild and a host of friends. The following poem is thought by close friends to best exemplify Mrs. Galloway's life. WHAT WAS HER CREED? I do not know her creed. I only know, That here below, she walked the common road, and lifted many a load, lightened the task, Brightened the day for others toiling on a weary way: This her only need; I do not. know her creed. What was her creed? I never heard her speak Of visions, rapturous, of Alpine peak Or doctrine, dogma new or old; But this I know, she was forever bold To stand alone, to face the challenge of each day, And live the truth so far as she could see The truth that evermore makes free. Her creed? I care not what her creed; Enough that never yielded she to greed; But served a brother in his daily need; Plucked many a thorn and planted many a flower: Glorified the service of each hour; Had faith in God herself, and fellow-men; Perchance she never thought in terms of creed; I only know she lived a life, Indeed. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Funeral services for Mrs. J.
