Naylor were held Wednesday, June 25 at 2 p m at the Cloyd Chapel. Rev Jed Cauffman officiated. Harrison Chadwick sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Take My Hand Precious Lord." He was also the organist. Matt Antovich, soloist and guitarist, sang "These Hands." Pallbearers were Don Barney, Ted Derheim, Marvin Fluth, Eldon Foster, Elliott Landheim and William J. Neill died at the Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon, February 2. The son of the late John and Mary (Jeffers) Neill, he was born in Utica, Nebraska, July 24, 1884 and came to Montana in 1913 and homesteaded east of Roy. He married Margaret Lewis, April 18, 1916. He moved to Lewistown in 1935. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors besides his widow are one son, Lewis Neill, Seattle, Washington, four daughters, Mrs. James Adams (Ruth) and Mrs. Del Huennekens (Pearl), Portland, and Mrs. Dean Morgan (Ann), and Mrs. Virgil Bryson (Helen), both of Lewistown. Nine grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Edith Riker, Chicago, Illinois; and a brother Thomas J. Neill, Lincoln, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Bunt (Nellie). The funeral will be held from Zellers Chapel of Roses, Portland, Oregon. He died Thursday at age 84 In Glendeen Nursing Home. Born in Thurston, Nebraska, a son Of Oscar and Hedvig Nelson, he married Lulu Mae Thompson in 1917 In Lewistown. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and lOOF. He retired in 1952. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (June)Hunter of 4417 Morgan Avenue and Mrs. Edwin (Virgie) Miller of Carson City, Nevada.; three sons, Gene of Laurel, Dale of 1037 Riverside Drive and Robert of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Walters of Pendleton Oregon;15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Nelson Lewistown paper Emma C. "Sandy" Nelson, 98, Billings and a former Lewistown resident died of natural causes early Saturday morning, March 20, at St. Johns Lutheran Home. She was born April 22, 1894 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of John and Sarah Sands. She attended country schools ad high school in Fargo. She came to Montana in 1913 with her family on the immigrant train to Lewistown. She began working at Lehman's Department Store ad during World War II she worked for Power Mercantile as a sales clerk. She later became manager of the shoe department On April 4, 1942, she was married to Harry Nelson in Lewistown. They moved to Shelby in 1945, returning to Lewistown in 1950. In 1965 they moved to Hamilton, returning to Lewistown in 1978 and living in the Eagles Manor. After her husbands death in 1983, Emma moved to Billings to St. John's Lutheran Home She was a charter member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Lewistown and was active in the church and Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and a nephew. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church. Burial was in Lewistown Cemetery. Cloyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (BESSIE) NELSON Lewistown paper -- 10-21-1983 Lewistown, MT Fergus County Martha E. (Bessie) Nelson, 98, of Lewistown died Friday night in the Central Montana Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born December 30, 1984 in Bozeman, the daughter of Amos and Mary Jane Beck. She received her education in Bozeman and moved to the Lewistown area in 1902 with her parents. In 1906, she was united in marriage to Hans Nelson and they made their home on Hanson creek where they ranched. She moved into Lewistown in 1937 and continued to live here until the time of her death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lewistown. Mrs. Nelson is survived by two sons, Harold of Bremerton, WA, and Ervle (Bunt) of Lewistown; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one son Eugene. Funeral services for Martha E. Nelson were held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with Harold Dover officiating with interment to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery. Barbara Harchenko was the organist and Loyd Bowen the soloist. He sand "In the Garden" and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, at St. Leo's Catholic Church with interment in the Lewistown City Cemetery. ******************************************************************* Sarah Mershon Neumann Lewistown paper no date given Sarah Mershon Neumann, 83 and former Lewistown City Councilwoman, died Monday morning at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital due to complications resulting from a stroke. She was born January 3, 1904 near Gilt Edge to Milton and Aimee Mershon, attended schools in Gilt Edge and graduated from Fergus High. She spent a year at Georgetown University in Washington D. C. and graduated from the University of Montana in 1927. She studied biology, music and drama and did post-graduate studies in laboratory medicine at the University of Michigan Lansing. On December 26, 1927, she and Otto Neumann were married in Lewistown. The couple operated the Nash-Rambler dealership in Lewistown for 32 years. While there, she was elected to the Lewistown City Council, serving four consecutive terms. She was a driving force behind the Spring Creek flood control project and the financing of a municipal swimming pool. She was forced to give up civic affairs in 1964 after suffering a stroke. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Lewistown and the Lewistown P. E. O. She made many award winning latchhook rugs. Other hobbies included seashell jewelry making, amateur theater, playing musical stringed instruments and antique collecting. Survivors include a daughter, Saralee Visscher of Bozeman; two grandsons, Kirby Van Horn of Houston, Texas and Ernst Visscher; two grand daughters, Constance Currie from Cincinnati, Ohio and Aimee Visscher of Pullman, Washington and three great grand children. Memorial services are pending at the Dahl Funeral Chapel in Bozeman. Cremation has taken place. ********************************************************* George T. Noel Lewistown paper 2-22-1921 Lewistown, MT Andrew Jackson Noel, widely known old time stockman and rancher of the Utica country, died here yesterday morning, after an illness and extending over a considerable period. He was 62 years of age and is survived by a wife and several children and other relatives. Norcutt Lewistown paper Marguerite B. Norcutt, 76, of Lewistown died Thursday. evening at the central Montana Nursing Home following a long illness. She was born March 8 1910, in Esterviile, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ruth Sweet. She moved with her mother and grandmother to Montana where her grandfather homesteaded near Valentine. She received her education in the Valentine area schools. On November 1, 1927 she married Clarence B. Norcutt in Lewistown. They lived in Lewistown, 11 years in Wolf Point and one year in California. Norcutt preceded her in death In 1961. Since that time she has continued to make her home in Lewistown. She was also preceded In death by her parents, one son, one daughter and two sisters. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Lewistown. She is survived by three sons, Earl Leroy of Phoenix, Arizona., Clarence E. of Glasgow, and Robert J. of San Diego California; 11 grand children and eight great grandchildren. Norskog 11-2-1972 LEWISTOWN -- NORSKOG, Kenneth E, 51 died Thursday on his ranch in the Missouri River Breaks north of Lewistown. He apparently fell down a steep bank and was stricken when he attempted to climb back up. He apparently died of exposure, Fergus County Coroner Jerry Cloyd said. Services will be Monday at 3:30 p m. at the Creel-Morrison-Retz Chapel. Burial will be in Lewistown City Cemetery. He was born at Miles City. He moved to the Winifred-Roy area in 1949 and to Beaverhead County in 1959. He returned to the Winifred / area a year ago. Survivors( include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Norskog of Billings, a brother, V.
