Belding, 66 of Lewistown died early Saturday morning in a Billings hospital following a short illness. He was born November 11, 1916 in West Chicago, IL, the son of Wilbert D. and Edythe L. Belding. He received his education in Illinois and then attended Columbia University, studying broadcasting. He then worked for WGN in Chicago, then moved to Midland, TX and then to Fayetteville, AR. He moved to Lewistown in 1947 to work for the Bennett brothers when they built KXLO. Belding worked there three years and then became manager of the Lewistown-area Chamber of Commerce. He held that position for 23 years. In 1973, he went back to work for KXLO. He was employed there until the time of his death. During World War II, Belding served with the Air force. He was united in marriage to Ellen Hughes in Lewistown November 11, 1947. He was member of the first United Presbyterian Church of Lewistown, an active member of the Lewistown Kiwanis Club and a past president. He also belonged to the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion of Lewistown. He was the secretary of the Highway 200 club. Belding is survived by his wife Ellen of Lewistown; one son, Bob of Ridgecrest, CA; on brother, Robert of Elgin, IL. Two grandchildren and four nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Lee S. Belding were held today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m. from the First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gordon Parke officiating. Cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Friends wishing to do so may make memorials to the Ronald McDonald house in Billings or the First United Presbyterian Church. They may be left at Cloyd Funeral home.
