Bevis, 85, Lewistown, died of natural causes Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31, in Central Montana Medical Center. She was born Sept. 22, 1906, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Helen Messenger. They moved to Montana and she received her education here. On Oct. 9, 1925. she was mooed to Lester J. Bevis in Lewistown. They lived at Valentine until 1941 when they moved to Cat Creek where they operated a garage and a rural mail route. They retired and moved into Winnett in 1981. After his death in 1989, she moved to Eagles Manor in Lewistown and had lived in Valle Vista Manor for the last two years. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Harry in 1970, one sister, Irene Potter in 1988 and her parents. Survivors include three sons, Joe of Bowman, ND, Earl and Burt, both of Winnett: two daughters, Marian Tindall and Helen Fielding, both of Kalispell: 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren: four great-great- Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Saturday in the Cloyd Chapel with burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may make Memorials to the Cardiac Care Unit at the Central Montana Medical Center or the American Cancer Society and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
