Bevis, 82. a former petroleum County Commissioner and school board member, died of bone cancer early Friday morning in the Central Montana Hospital. He was born August 18, 1907, Whites, WA, the son of Harlan and Adeline Bevis. He received his education in Washington, then moved to Montana to Montana and homesteaded near Valentine. On Oct. 9. 1925 he was married to Dorothy Messenger in Lewistown. They ranched at Valentine until 1941 when they moved to Cat Creek. He ran a repair shop there and was a rural mail Carrier. He served two terms as a commissioner and many years on the Winnett School Board. In 1982 he retired and moved into Winnett. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Winnett: three sons, Joe of Bowman, ND, Earl of Lewistown and Burt of Winnett: two daughters, Marion Tindall of Las Vegas, NV and Helen Fielding of Kalispell; one brother, Charles of Tacoma, WA; one sister, Ramona Young of Lacey, WA; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren. two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens of Lewistown. Friends wishing to do so may make memorials to the American Society and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home. ~l~us
