Fergus County Gertrude Odd of Lewistown, 84 died Friday afternoon at Central Montana Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Bartlett, Nebraska on November 23, 1897, the daughter of George and Lillie Martin. She received her schooling there and married Charles Taylor. They resided in Nebraska until the 1930s, when they moved to Martin, SD. Taylor died there in 1932 and Mrs. Odd moved back to Nebraska. She later married James Odd, coming to Lewistown in the later 1930s. She had resided here since that time. Before her retirement about 20 years ago, Mrs. Odd worked at the Culvert Hotel and at the Gem Café for a long time. Survivors include two sons, C. R. “Buzz” Taylor and Harold “Beets” Taylor both of Lewistown; a daughter, Lilly “Toots” Jackson of Lewistown; and four sisters, Mrs. Clara Noble of Great Falls, Mrs. Ivel Bickler of Anaheim, CA, Mrs. Melvin Terpack of Riverside, CA and Mrs. Martin Harvey of Scottsdale, AZ.
