GALLOWAY HELD IN CITY Last respects paid prominent Valentine rancher who died at local hospital last Thursday. Final respects were paid William Galloway Prominent rancher of the Roy-Valentine section, at funeral services conducted at Creel’s Chapel Sunday afternoon. The Rev. C. W. Orner officiated. Clyde Frederickson, accompanied by Mrs. Richard Lausch sang “In the Garden” and “Jesus Savior, Pilot me.” William Galloway was born in Concordia, KS, on September 28, 1882, and came to Montana with his parents in 1913. Since then he had lived and ranched in that section, never marrying. He died at St. Joseph’s hospital last Thursday. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. M G Galloway of Valentine, and two sisters, Miss Jean Galloway of this city and Mrs. Robert Daniels of Billings. A different article dated 1942 Death William Galloway here on Thursday Prominent rancher of the Valentine Section Passes at St. Joseph’s hospital William Galloway, 60, prominent rancher of the Valentine-Roy section for the past 30 years and brother of Miss Jean Galloway, widely known for her paintings and recent enlistment in the WAAC’s died at the St. Joseph’s hospital about 4:30 following a seer weeks’ illness. Born in Concordia, KS, September 28, 1882, William Galloway came from Kansas to Montana in 1912 with his parents, the late M. G. Galloway and Mrs. Galloway, and soon after arriving here took up a homestead in the Valentine section, where he had lived and farmed ever since. Devoted to his parents, he had never married and spent his time successfully developing his ranching operations. He had a wide circle of friends throughout eastern Fergus county and was admired and respected by his neighbors and all others who had the privilege of becoming acquainted or coming in contact with him. He was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church. His father preceded him in death in 1928, as did also a sister, Mrs. Joe Peoples, of Roy in 1935. He is survived by his mother and sister, Jean, of the home ranch and another sister, Mrs. Robert Daniels living in Billings.
