This file may be freely copied for non-profit purposes. All other rights reserved. Central Montana Pioneer Bessie L. Horacek, 82, died of cancer, December 16 in Lancaster , CA. She was born August 27, 1905 in North Dakota and homesteaded near Lewistown with her husband Frank in the 1920’s, where they mined in the Judith Mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Dick. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Ruth Horacek of Rowland Heights, CA, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Bessie L Horacek were held December 18th at Blackman’s Pomona Valley, Mortuary. A funeral mass was held Dec. 19th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church in Rowland Heights. Interment was in Queen of Heaven cemetery, Rowland Heights, with Pumona Valley Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
