Murphy, 75, died Wednesday afternoon at the Central Montana Hospital following a three year illness. She was born Nov. 14, 1903 at Malta, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Town. She attended schools in Malta and Graduated from Malta High School. Mrs. Murphy later graduated from college in Dillon and then attended teachers college in Oregon. She taught school in the Malta area for several years prior to marrying Joe Murphy in 1926 in Billings. After she was married she taught school in Roy for 15 years and then made out tax returns for the people in Roy area for many years. She was a member of the Roy Women’s Club, the Roy PTA and Royal Neighbors. Survivor’s include her husband of Roy; one son Jim Murphy of Roy; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Jo Barnes, Jackson Hole, WY; six grandchildren; and one brother William R. Town of Billings. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Creel-Morrison-Retz Funeral Chapel with Father Robert Bohyer officiating. Interment will follow in Lewistown City Cemetery. IN MEMORY OF EVA T.
