(Bessie) Nelson, 98, of Lewistown died Friday night in the Central Montana Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born December 30, 1984 in Bozeman, the daughter of Amos and Mary Jane Beck. She received her education in Bozeman and moved to the Lewistown area in 1902 with her parents. In 1906, she was united in marriage to Hans Nelson and they made their home on Hanson creek where they ranched. She moved into Lewistown in 1937 and continued to live here until the time of her death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lewistown. Mrs. Nelson is survived by two sons, Harold of Bremerton, WA, and Ervle (Bunt) of Lewistown; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one son Eugene. Funeral services for Martha E. Nelson were held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with Harold Dover officiating with interment to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery. Barbara Harchenko was the organist and Loyd Bowen the soloist. He sand “In the Garden” and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” Pallbearers were Bud Beck, Eddie Gray, Jimmy Gray, Coleman Jacklin, Norman Wagner and Oakley Woody. Friends wishing to do so may make memorials to the Central Montana Hospital.
