Obituary for Zelma Roeseler - Fergus County, Montana The Daily News Lewistown, Montana February 3rd 1974 Mrs Zelma Trowbridge Roeseler, 100, long time the resident of the Central Montana area, died Thursday afternoon, January 30, 1974 at Valley Vista Manor after a short illness. Mrs. Roeseler was born February 7, 1873 in Marion, Grant County, Michigan, The Daughter of Jasper J Trowbridge and Sarah Sibeck. She recieved her education in Indiana, Minnesota, and Michigan and graduated From Michigan State Normal School (now Eastern Michigan State University) with a sheep skin diploma, at Yspilanti, Michigan. She taught school in Ironwood, Michigan. On Feb 23, 1897, she married William F. Roeseler in Rochester, Minnesota. They subsequently moved to Pleasant Grove, Minnesota, where they operated a Grocery Store. They later operated a fruit farm in Benton Harbor, Michigan. In 1899 they moved to Montana where they worked on a sheep ranch near Wilbaux. The Family came to Moore Montana in 1909 and homesteaded near Windham the same year. Mrs Roeseler spent the rest of her life in the Judith Basin until moving to Lewistown in 1965. She was active in Church and community Affairs and 4-h activities. Survivors include two sons, Harold of Lewistown and Ernest of Rock Island, Illinios, three daughters Vera Roeseler and Mrs Robert (Liane) Mc Guire both of Stanford and Mrs Maro (Margrye) Butchart of Kalispell, eight grand children and fifthteen Great-grandchildren She was proceded in death by her husband in 1947 and by two sons. She is buried in the Lewistown Cemetary beside her husband.
