Lewistown paper 7-4-80 Elsie Umstead, 81, former Lewistown and Roy area resident, died Friday evening in Bozeman following an extended illness. She was born October 20, 1892, in Spring Valley, MI the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Williams. She received her education in MN. Following her schooling she moved to Jamestown. ND, and lived there until her marriage to Roy O. Umstead on September 1, 1913. They farmed in North Dakota until 1919 when they moved to Montana settling in the Roy area where they ranched until their retirement in 1977. They moved into Lewistown that same year and lived here until September of 1979 when they moved to Bozeman. Mrs. Umstead was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, five sisters and one son LeRoy. -
