Lewistown papers 4-2-1974 Mrs. Edith A Valentine, 87, Lewistown and formerly of Benchland, died Tuesday morning at Valle Vista Manor. She was born Edith Carr October 28, 1886, in Bridgewater, IO. She came to Benchland in 1911 as an interpreter for the Herbold family. She was married to Elmer Valentine in 1919. They farmed near Benchland until his death Oct. 11, 1952. Two years later she moved to Lewistown. Due to poor health, she had been a patient at Valle Vista for the past two years. Mrs. Valentine war active in church affairs both in Benchland and Lewistown as Long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Methodist Church She is survived by several nephews and a nieces. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p. m, at the Creel-Morrison-Retz. Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Arthur Heath, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery.
