Lewistown Paper dated 7-28-1974 Mrs. Mary Katherine Warneke 88, former Lewistown area resident died Thursday afternoon in a Missoula rest home after a lengthy illness She was born March 27, 1886, in Hall, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jakob Kohler. She received her schooling in Germany, and came to the United Stales at the age of 19,settling in Womago, KS. After three years, she moved to McFarland, KS, where she made her home until 1917. She married William Vossloh. He preceded her in death in 1909. She later was married to William Miller; he died in 1915. In 1919, she was married to Fred C Warneke in Billings. He died in 1951. In 1917 Mrs. Warneke moved to Montana and lived in Shepard. She Later moved to Fromberg. From 1930-1941 she lived in the Bercail-Hedgesville area. In 1941, she moved to Christina, in 1952 she moved to the Joliet and Absorkee area. In 1966. she moved to Lewistown where she made her home until about a year ago when she moved to a Missoula rest home. Mrs. Warneke was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. and the Lois Circle of the Zion Lutheran Church She is survived by six daughters, Mrs Charles (Eleanor) Kananen of Roy, Mrs. Helena Gloat of Redmond. OR. Mrs. Wilma DoLian of Missoula, Mrs Viola James of Santa Rosa. CA, Mrs. Hugo (Marion) Jarussi Lewiston, Idaho and Mrs. Joe (Emma) Peterson of Lewistown: four sons. Lewis Miller of Harlowton, Elmer Warneke of Judith Gap, Norman Warneke of Burns, OR, and Ervin Warneke of Christina; two sisters in Germany: 36 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren In addition to her husbands, Mrs Warneke was preceded in death by two sons, Fred Warneke Jr. and Robert Warneke. Funeral services sill Monday at 2 p m at the Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Robert E. Bohlmann of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating Burial will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery. Friends wishing to do so may make memorials to the Zion Lutheran Memorial Fund or the Central Montana Hospital Building Fund. The Cloyd funeral chapel is in charge of arrangements. The casket will be open at the church for viewing from noon Monday until time of service and then will be closed and remain closed.
