Marcella Wherley, 103 died February 24 in Portland, OR.

She was born March 31, 1876 in Faxon, MN to Anthony and Mary Doherty.  She was married to Dennis 
Wherley on June 10, 1892 in Faxon.  She had been a resident of Portland for 20 years.

She is survived by three sons, Joe and Dennis of Grants Pass, OR, and Ray of Missoula, MT; and three 
daughters, Gertrude Smith, Portland, Marcella Martin, Phoenix and Blanche Warnisher, Lewistown; and one 
sister, Agnes Griffin of Salem, OR.

Mrs. Wherley is preceded in death by one son and four daughters.  She also has numerous grandchildren and 
great grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at St. Leo’s Catholic Church with Father Dick Osterman officiating.  Interment 
will be at Calvary Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at the Creel-Morrison-Retz Chapel Wednesday evening at 8.
