A. Matthews Died Saturday Mrs Frances Lucinda Matthews, wife of Chas. A. Mattthews, pioneer merchant of Whitefish, passed away at nine-thiry Saturday morning, September twenty-fift at the family home. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church Monday afternoon. September 27,. Rev. Duttton, officiating. Rev. Dutton took his text from the Second Corinthians, Chapter V, verse K: "For we know if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the Heaven". Lead Kindly, Light and Abide With Me, were sung by a quartet composed of Mrs. L. H. Bernard, Mrs. G.M. Moss, L.E. Witmore and L.C. Lasen. Interment was made in Whitefish cemetary, the Order of Eastern Star having charge of the services at the grave. The pallbearers, all pioneer residents of Whitefish and close friends of the Matthews family, were J. A. Monk, C.A. Bonner, E.M. Hutchinson, Dr. J. A. Tillett, J. T. Hutchinson, and J. C. Balley. Mrs Matthews was born in Tilsonburg, Canada 63 years ago and came to Whitefish, October 14, 1903, with her husband and daughter, C.are, who is now Mrs. George Blume.
