H. A. Schagel, Oldest Man in Flathead County, Dead

              (Special Telegram)
    Kalispell, Mont. Sept. 19. -- H. A. Schagel, the
oldest citizen living in this county died Thursday at
his home in Kalispell of old age. He was ninety-nine
years and six months old when death came to relieve him 
of the troubles of this world. He had hoped, with his 
family of six children, that he would live to see his one
hundredth birthday, but the past six months he failed
rapidly and on Thursday he breathed his last. He was buried
in the Kalispell cemetery Friday. Among his surviving siz
children is Eber J. Schagel, who is well known over the
state, having been in the sawmill and lumber business here
several years.
