She came to the United States in 1851 and settled at Pass Christian, Fla., where she lived until 1867, moving then to St. Louis. She came to Montana in 1869 and lived with her sister, Mrs. James Shedd, at Sterling, Mont., until 1870, and removed during that year to Washington Bar, Mont. While in the latter place she separated from her first husband and Feb. 18, 1872, she was married to Daniel Severns, who was then engaged in mining. In 1875 they moved to a ranch on Meadow creek, where they made their home for about 17 years. Mrs. Severns came to the Gallatin valley with her husband in 1892 and lived on the West Gallatin river near Shedd's bridge. In 1894 they opened a store near Shedd's bridge, keeping this store successfully until the spring of 1909, when they sold to Samuel Collett, Jr., and moved to Bozeman, where they made their home for three years, after which they went to California, where Mrs. Severns died last Saturday. She is survived by her husband and by gtwo daughters, Mrs. Margaret Thomas of Choteau and Mrs. Clat of Loraine, Mont., and by two sons, James Williams and Joe Seversn, both of Bozeman. the son Joe brought his mother's body from California, and the daughter, Mrs. Thomas, is here for the funeral, which was held this morning at 11 o'clock.
