JAMES BOLES Born: Died: Place: Died: Occupation: he was a miner in the Sunset, Yreka and Garnet, Montana Area. Married: Children: In 1906 he found the elderly chinese miner Al Moon frozen to death near Moon's cabin at Yreka. He buried him the next day. Later that same year James Boles of Sunset was kicked in the face by a colt with four white feet and a white nose. Garnet being the nearest place with a doctor, his wife brought him there for treatment. But it seems poor James Boles got even more treatment than he needed. The doctor, after ascertaining that no bones were broken, sewed the wound up with six stitches, all the while humming: "Four white feet and a white nose, Take his hide and feed the crows."
