"RED" McCLOSKY Born: Place: Died: Place: Occupation: he was a miner at Garnet, Montana in 1906. Married: Children: While working the Fairview Mine Mr. McClosky was accidently shot by his own partner. What "Red" McClosky was doing in the Garnet late into the night was not told but it seems possible he was prospecting for one of these hilarious times that could be had there. In any case, he decided to come home late that night. When he got back to his tent, his partner woke up and mistaking "Red" for a bear, shot him. The Powell County Call give the following details; "The bullet passed through McCloskey's back and came out at the thigh, barely missing one of the big arteries. Dr. Symms promptly attended to the wounded man and he is getting along well." Bibliography: Powell County Call, The 1906. Article of September 1, page 6.
