RALSTON Born: Place: Died: Place: Occupation: he was a school teacher at Garnet, Montana in 1903. Married: Children: The woman teacher the year before had a bad time with too many older boys who were unmanageable; so the parents decided to hire a man. Mr. Ralston agreed to control the trouble makers. He was very strict and in order to control the trouble makers he assigned long pages of Palmer Method lessons to all but the lower grades. They had to take them home and work on them in order to return the finished pages the next morning. Evidently the parents backed him. The idea was to keep them too busy to get into mischief. He also kept the older scholars too busy to do their regular chores. He treated all older scholars alike-both boys and girls. He was strict and he won out over the trouble makers.
