Place: probably Missoula County, Montana. Died: Place: Occupation: Miner near Garnet, Montana in 1934. Religion: Presbyterian. Married: Children: Mr. Johnny Toole did not live in Garnet but worked several of the mines in the Top O Deep and in Garnet area when he was a teenager. He saw his first bulldozer constructing the road up Douglas Creek in 1935 and was impressed. Being musical he played the guitar and harmonica at dances at Garnet. His grandfather Ken Ross hauled food and supplies to the famous Douglas Mine by a hand draw sled in winter. His grandmother Anna Hardenbrook Toole died in 1934 with the funeral at Missoula, Montana. She was born in 1865 and came to Virginia City gold camp, Montana in a covered wagon as a small child. Johnny Toole walked, hitch hiked to Bearmouth. He then jumped a ride on the Milwaukee railroad (now abandon) from Bearmouth to Missoula to attend the funeral. Bibliography: Toole, Johnny, 1984.
