She had lived in Butte from 1917 to 1926 when she moved with her husband to Phillipsburg. She married Mr. Porter in Anaconda in April 1922 and the couple operated Porters Corners south of Phillipsburg for about 20 years before he opened an electrical shop in Phillipsburg. Mrs. Porter was born July 29 1893 in Ogden Utah and received her education there. She was a charter member and past district president of the VFW auxiliary in Phillipsburg. She was also a past president of American Legion post 33 auxiliary, Phillipsburg WBA and was former chairman of Red Cross and the Granite County Democratic Central Committee. Mrs. Porter belonged to Red Wing Council of the Great Council of Montana, Degree of Pocahontas; Senior Womens Club; R. E. Club and Relief committee of the church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. She was former secretary treasurer of that committee, former leader of Temple 21 Pythian Sisters and at the time of her death was secretary treasurer of the Legion auxiliary of Phillipsburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home in Phillipsburg with David O Kessler of the LDS church in charge. Burial will be in the family plot in Phillipsburg.
