THE PHILIP GILLICK FAMILY Philip Gillick came to the Boulder Valley from County Caven, Ireland, at the age of 19 years. He came to live with his half sister and her husband, Mr. & Mrs. John Brady, in 1883. He declared his intention of becoming a citizen in 1889, and became citizen in 1894 with Judge Frank Showers presiding and John Sheehy and Richard Dunn as witnesses. Nellie Doherty was born in the Boulder Valley to Margaret and John Doherty on May 30 1878. She was one of nine children. She attended Boulder High School and graduated in 1896 with Mary B. Taylor, Elizabeth M. Bridges, and Joseph D. Filcher. She later went to work at the Brady Ranch and married Philip Gillick September 26, 1911. They were the first Valley couple married in Saint John s Church. They had four children, Sarah, Philip, Margaret and Mary. Sarah died in 1917 and Philip died in 1937. They continued to reside at the Brady Ranch where Philip Gillick died December 6, 1942. Nellie Gillick resided at the ranch until June, 1948 when she moved to Butte to live with her daughter, Mary. She died March 27, 1956. Mary is married to John Kasun and lives at 2760 Kossuth, Butte, Montana. They have one boy. SUBMITTED BY MR. AND MRS. EDWARD KAVRAN
