CHARLES MAGUIRE - pg 1344 From Leeson's History of Montana 1739-1885 published 1885 SURNAMES FOUND IN THIS BIOGRAPHY: SMITH Chas. Maguire (deceased), late of Butte, was born in Ireland in 1844. His parents soon after emigrated to the United Sates, locating at Osceola, Ia. Here he remained till grown; came west in 1873 and engaged in general merchandise business at Ogden, Utah, for three years; sold out and engaged in trading; traveled through Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Montana for eight years, selling merchandise. In 1880 he married Miss Rosana Smith, of Motnana; in 1881 came to Butte and opened a feed and picture store. While absent in Idaho he was seized with typhoid fever and returned home, where he died October 27, 1883.
