WILLIAM NOONAN - pg 1184 From Leeson's History of Montana 1739-1885 published 1885 SURNAMES FOUND IN THIS BIOGRAPHY: CARROLL William Noonan, P. O. Woodville, was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, February 24, 1857, and is a son of Thomas and Judith (Carroll) Noonan. He learned and worked at the blacksmith trade five years, an d in 1881 came to the United States, working at the trade in New York city and Chicago. January 26, 1882, he came to Montana and settled at Butte, where he remained but a short time before locating at Woodville, his present residence and place of business, having established his business there in July 1882. In November, 1882, he was elected Justice of the Peace for two years, which office he fills to the satisfaction of all. He has also been appointed deputy postmaster.
