RIGGIN - pg 1185 From Leeson's History of Montana 1739-1885 published 1885 SURNAMES FOUND IN THIS BIOGRAPHY: JORDAN Rev. F. A. Riggin, A. M., P. O. fish Creek, was born at Baltimore, Md., September 7, 1848; was educated at the public schools of the city and Baltimore City College; prepared for Dickensian College at Clinton Institute, and graduated at Dickensian college, Carlisle, Pa. in 1871. He was stationed at Harrisburg, Pa., then transferred to Minnesota, and spent one year; was stationed at Evanston, Wy. T., in 1872, and coming to Montana in 1873, was stationed as follows: Virginia City, three years; the circuit being divided spent one year on the Beaver Head and Jefferson valley work, and Fish Creek and Butte, three years. He married Ida I. Jordan, the youngest daughter of Harrison Jordan, July 20, 1876; was appointed presiding elder in 1876, when 27 years old, and superintendent of missions in 1880, having been in charge of the work of the M. E. church, in Montana, solely or jointly, ever since. Mrs. Ida I. RIGGIN, wife of Superintendent RIGGIN, was born in Iowa, November 19, 1860; crossed the plains with her parents to Colorado, Nevada, California and Montana, when two years old, and after those years of travel, arrived in Montana in 1864, being one among the first children in the Territory, and has remained in Montana ever since. her parents, Harrison Jordan and wife, still live at Fish Creek, Jefferson Co., where also numerous relatives reside. Mr. and Mrs. Riggin have two boys: Harrison Van Orsdel and Guy Asbury, born in Montana; the eldest, September 26, 1877, the youngest, July 16, JORDAN
