TAYLOR - pg 1186 From Leeson's History of Montana 1739-1885 published 1885 SURNAMES FOUND IN THIS BIOGRAPHY: ERHARDT J. M. D. Taylor, P. O. Radersburg, ranchman, was born in Franklin Co., Ky, December 27, 1832; moved with his parents to Clinton Co, Ill, in 1835; went to Kansas in 1855; returned to Illinois in 1857, where he resided until 1864, when he left enroute to Montana. He arrived at Alder Gulch in August, 1864, mined there until 1865, when he moved to Grizzly Gulch, Last Chance, where he prospected. The following two years he prospected and mined in what is now Meagher county, and in the fall of 1880 he resided at Jefferson City. In November, 1880, he was elected Probate Judge and moved to Radersburg, where he acted as ex-offici Clerk and Recorder. he served two years as Superintendent of Schools, being elected in 1870, and was justice of the Peace at Jefferson City for nine years. Mr. Taylor has 640 acres on White Tail Deer creek, inclosed as a horse ranch. His range is also inclosed. J. A. Erhardt, his assistant, has large cattle interests also.
