THOMPSON - pg 1186 From Leeson's History of Montana 1739-1885 published 1885 SURNAMES FOUND IN THIS BIOGRAPHY: FILSON; LEWIS Andrew T. Thompson, P. O. Beaver Creek, was born in rock Co., Wis., April 14, 1844; son of David and Caroline (Lewis) Thompson; lived with parents until 13 years of age, when he went to Minnesota, but the Indians becoming troublesome, he returned to his native State, and in 1861 joined the Union army, enlisting in Company D, Second Wisconsin Infantry. He was promoted to corporal, and when his time of enlistment had expired, he re- enlisted in the Second Wisconsin Cavalry, and was corporal in that regiment also. At the close of the war he returned to Wisconsin, and in the spring of 1866 came to Beaver Creek, Jefferson Co., took up a ranch and has since bought 160 acres more, and added thereto. Mr. Thompson was married to Cora B. Filson, December 11, 1880. they have one boy, named Alvin L., born March 21, 1880.
