He had been ill for several days of stomach trouble. In 1879 Mr. Gruessemeyer came to Montana. For a time he was employed as wagon maker by the government and was stationed at Fort Shaw during the time General Brooks commanded the post. Soon afterward he removed to Helena, where he had the contract for building the Odd Fellows' hall. He also built the mill at the Belmont mine. Mr. Gruessemeyer is survived by a widow and two children, Mrs. Mary Cunningham and Henry L. Gruessemeyer, a well-known letter carrier. The funeral will take place Friday morning at 9 o'clock at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Solemn requiem high mass for the repose of the soul will be sung. Interment will take place in the Catholic cemetery.
