Butte, Oct. 27.--(AP) -- Walter S. Orton, 59, pioneer Montana businessman, died 
here today after an illness of more than seven months. Orton was born in 
Virginia City and came to Butte in 1879. Until 15 years ago he was associated 
with the Orton Brothers Music company here.

He is survived by his widow, two brothers, W. C. Orton of Butte and James Orton 
of Los Angeles, as well as several nephews and nieces. He was a brother-in-law 
of E. G. Leipheimer, editor of the Montana Standard.
