Morning Oregonian November 23,1904
Missoula,Mont.,Nov.22-John Nelson,one of the best known pioneers of 
Montana,was found dead in his bed in this city today.Heart failure was the 
cause. in the days of Marcus Daly,Nelson ws very prosperous,conducting many 
large enterprises in the Bitter Root Valley.Reverses since then reduced him to 
poverty.He was once Sheriff of Deer Lodge County and many years ago was a 
condctor on the Oregon Short Line.
