The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Royal J. Thornton, 539 Yellowstone
Ave., was celebrated 
with a weeklong family gathering on the Boulder River.

 Royal J. Thornton and Mildred White were married Aug. 24, 1913, in Edgar, where
they homesteaded 
until 1927. They ranched in Pryor until 1955 when Thornton retired. 

Attending the gathering were the Thorntons' eight children and their families, Mr.
and Mrs. Max 
Thornton, Pryor Star Route; Mr. and Mrs. Castle Thornton, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mr. and
Mrs. Willis Thornton, 
Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Thornton, Quincey, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs.
Melvin Thornton, 
Missoula; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Houser, Clearlake Highlands, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Thornton, 
Sultan, Wash.; Miss Esther Thornton, 539 Yellowstone Ave., 17 grandchildren and four
great-
grandchildren
