Reid rreid21@cox.net August 14, 2008, 9:17 pm The Billings Gazette, April 10, 1964 Billings Gazette, Friday, April 10, 1964, page 18 C.R.Crosser - Packing Firm President Dies in Butte Hospital Carl Rennon Crosser, 68, of 800 Minnesota Ave., president of the Midland Empire Packing Co., died in a Butte hospital Thursday night following an extended illness. Mr. Crosser had spent six months in a hospital at Galen Before being transferred to Butte. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, Sept. 10, 1895, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Crosser. they came to Billings in 1900 and in 1909 Mr. Crosser, his father and brother established the Crosser Packing Plant. He married Dora Lee Danford in Billings. Mr. Crosser was a member of American Legion Post No. 4; United Commercial Travelers, Yellowstone Council; Billings Lodge 113, Af&Am, Scottish Rite Bodies, Billings Consistory No. 5; and Al Bedoo Shrine Temple. HE was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include the widow; a son, Robert R. Crosser of 2116 Fox Drive; a brother, Con W. Crosser of Anacortes, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
