Reid rreid21@cox.net August 10, 2008, 12:59 pm Billings Gazette, November 27, 1928 Billings Gazette, Tuesday, November 27, 1928 Services Held for Joliet Man: Funeral services for Howard M. Danford of Silesia, who died at a local hospital early Saturday morning following a brief illness were conducted Monday afternoon at the Christian church in Joliet. The Rev. Lester B. Rickman pastor of the church officiated. Two songs, "No Night There." and "Beautiful Isle," wer sung by Mrs. G.F. Tidyman, Mrs. George Bell, Mrs. Byron Bell, Mrs. C.L. Burger, Mrs. Eva Pearce and the Rev. Mr. Rickman. The piano accompaniments were played by Mrs. E.J. Reardon. The pallbearers were Louis Hetland, Leland Stark, A.A. Chenney, F.L. Weller, Roy Reams and Albert Young. Joilet lodge No. 77, Odd Fellows escorted the funeral procession from the church to Rockvale cemetery where the lodge assisted by a large numer of Odd Fellows from Laurel had full charge of the services. Ther interment was made beside his father Washinton Irvin Danford who died in 1913 and his mother, Margaret (Craig) Danford who died in 1908 who came to the Yellowstone valley in the early 80's. Howard M. Danford leaves a wife, a son, James Howard, 8, and a sister, Mrs. C.L. Jackson, to mourn his death. George Danford of Canyon creek, is an uncle.
