Mr. Kilwien, a laborer at the docks, was found beside his wheelbarrow near the tracks at about 9:30 a.m. He was given emergency first aid treatment and then was brought to the Billings hospital where he died at about 1:30 p.m. without regaining consciousness. His physician said his death was the result of head injuries. A railway official, investigating the death, said that a switch engine had passed along the tracks shortly before Mr. Kilwien’s body was found but that there was no indication that he had been struck. Mr. Kilwien had been employed at the docks for a number of years, entering the employ of the railway in 1944 when it took over management of the docks from the company which had operated them previously. He resided at 812 Washington avenue in Laurel. The widow survives.
