PAIGE DIES IN CALIFORNIA Had Gone to Pamona to Spend His Remaining Days There. Plan Memorial Services. Just 10 days after leaving this city to take up his residence in California, Charles A. Paige, according to a telegram received in Billings yesterday, died at Pamona, Cal., and burial will be made there today. Mr. Paige and his family came to Montana from Missouri 10 years ago and resided in this city part of the time, and also on his farm six miles east. He was 70 years of age, a veteran of the Civil war and a member of McKinley post, G.A.R. this city, and active in its reorganization. On the eve of their departure for California, Mr. and Mrs. Paige were tendered a reception by the G.A.R., the W.R.C. and Ladies of the G.A.R. Mr. Paige was a member of deacon of the First Congregational church and in his memory a special service will be conducted Sunday morning, April 9, by Rev H.S. Fritsch. Invitations will be extended to his comrades, the W.R.C. and the Ladies of the G.A.R. Mr. Paige died at the home of his eldest son J.M. Paige, park superintendent at Pomona. Another son, M.H. Paige, also resides at Pomona. Two children, Ella and Harry Paige, are residents of Billings. One son resides in St. Louis, as does also a married daughter. Another son is in Oregon.
