All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Gary Thompson thomlegacy@yahoo.com January 21, 2006, 1:59 pm Assigned To: John Newlin Written: March 20, 1828 This Indenture made this twentieth day of March in the year Of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & Twenty eight Between John Newlin (trustee) for John Thompson of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part & Thomas Thompson of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said John Newlin, Trustee, as aforesaid did on the day of the date Hereof vy virtue of a Deed of Trust made and Executed to him by John Thompson bearing date The Thirteenth day of October in the year of Our Lord One Thousand eight hundred & Twenty Seven sell _______ ________ _____, all the right, title & Interset of said John Thompson Vested in him the said John Newlin by virtue of said Deed of Trust in a Grist Mill & Saw Mill & all the land & Islands allotted To said Mills, also another tract of land adjoining the Mill Lot, Thomas Thompson bidding the _______ of Twelve hundred and Five dollars for the Mills & -----------------Lot _________ the Islands in the River & other tract adjoining the Mill Lot which being the highest Bid Thereof, For In Consideration of the said sum of Twelve hun- Dred & five dollars in hand paid by the said Thomas Thompson To the said John Newlin trustee aforesaid at or before the sealing & delivery of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted, bargained, sold And by these present doth grany Bargain & sell unto the sain Thomas Thompson all the before described Land & Mills Situate lying and being in the beforesaid County of Orange On the East side of Haw River Bounded on the South by the Lands of Luke Teer, on the North by lands of Thomas Thompson & William Paris, on the East by Motes Creek & on the West by Haw River, Beginning at a Gum on the bank of Haw River Luke Teers corner running thence North Thirty eight degrees East Nineteen chains in Luke Teers line to Motes Creek thence up said creek Its various courses to a Hickory Thomas Thompsons corner, thence in his Line, North Seventy Seven degrees West Twenty Five chains to a hickory William Paris corner Thence South Twenty Seven degrees West Nineteen Chains & fifty links to a Hickory on the bank of the River, Thence Down the River Including all the Islands to the beginning Containing One hundred & fifty acres more or less together with all improvements Waters & water courses & everything there unto belonging or in any wise Appertaining To Have & To Hold the same with all the _________ Unto the said Thomas Thompson his heirs of _________ forever & all the Right, title & interest of him the said John Thompson in said land _________ vested in the said John Newlin trustee as aforesaid by virtue of said Deed of Trust is hereby transferred & conveyed to the said Thomas Thompson his heirs _________ forever.
