All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Gary Thompson thomlegacy@yahoo.com January 21, 2006, 2:05 pm Written: February 6, 1829 This Indenture made this Sixth day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and twenty nine between Thomas Thompson of the County Of Orange in the State of North Carolina of the one part and John Newlin of the same County and State of the other part Witnepeth that the said Thomas Thompson hath for and In consideration of the sum of Seventy five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the Said John Newlin at or before the Sealing & delivering of these presents the receipt where of The said Thomas Thompson doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold And by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Newlin a certain Tract and parcel of Land situate lying and being in the beforesaid County of Orange On the East side of Haw River and bounded on the South by the lands of Luke Tier on the East by Moats Creek on th North by the lands of Thomas Thompson And William Paris on the West including the Island by Haw River Beginning at A gum on the East side HawRiver Luke Tiers corner running thence North Thirty Eight degrees East in his line Nineteen Chains to Moats Creek thence up the Creek its various courses to a Hickory Thomas Thompson’s corner thence in his line North Seventy seven degrees West twenty five chains to a Hickory William Paris’s Corner thence South Seventy five degrees West Nineteen chains fifty links to a Hickory on arm of Haw River thence up said Arm to the Main River thence down the River including the Islands adjacent to the beginning Containing One Hundred And fifty acres more or less including the Mills and all the Islands in the River Which were granted by the State to John Thompson (decd) the father of the said Thomas together with all ways woods and waters and water courses improvements Hereditaments and every thing belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said Lands And premises unto the said John Newlin his heirs or apsigns forever and the said Thomas Thompson doth and _______ for himself and his heirs warrant and defend The right & title of the said Land and premises from the claim or claims of any Person or persons claiming by him through or under them or otherwise unto The said John Newlin his Heirs or apsigns forever In Witness whereof the said Thomas Thompson hath to this Indenture Set his hand & Seal the day and Date above written Thomas Thompson (Miller) Signed Sealed and delivered In thepresence of Thomas Crudle Merriot Robeson File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/alamance/deeds/thompson76gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 3.1 Kb
