May 26, 1906, page 3 MISS ELIZABETH COOKE DEAD Daughter of Judge Charles COOKE, of Louisburg, Passes Away at Burlington (Special to News and Observer) Burlington, N.C. May 25. The whole town is shocked over the intelligence of the death of Miss Elizabeth COOKE, which occurred at 4:30 this morning. Miss COOKE's home is in Louisburg, N.C., and four weeks ago she came here on a visit to her aunt, Mrs. J. M. TISDALE. Two weeks ago she was taken ill, and a complication of diseases set in, and several days ago she became critically ill. The best of medical aid was rendered but she gradually grew worse and died today. She was the only daughter and youngest child of Judge and Mrs. C. M. COOKE. She has six brothers, who live all over the State all of whom, with her father and mother, were with her when she passed away. The remains were carried to Louisburg today and will be interred there tomorrow. The whole town mourns with the bereaved family and relatives over the loss of one so young and popular, just budding into sweet womanhood.
