C. Argus Feb. 14, 1857 MURDER OF WILLIAM GIBSON We understand that a shocking murder was committed at the Constable's election at Melville, Alamance County on Saturday last. JOHN SHAW, a man considerably advance in life, stabbed his son-in-law, WILLIAM GIBSON, twice, and afterwards threw a stone at him, breaking his skull, and causing his death in a few minutes. Both were drunk at the time -- SHAW is represented as being very peaceable when sober, but a dangerous man when in liquore. He was comitted to await his trial. -- Hillsboro Recorder File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/alamance/obits/g/gibson733ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ncfiles/ File size: 1.1 Kb
