Alamance County, NC - Obituary of Charlie D. Holt, 1962 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obituary of my Grandfather Charlie D. Holt...mailed to me by Volunteer Faye T. Caynor of Mebane, NC. Charlie D. Holt Mebane - Charlie D. Holt, 68 of 108 West Graham Street, died at his home yesterday morning at 11:15 o'clock after an extended illness. He was the husband of Fannie Lee Hightower Holt, who survives. A native of Person County, he was a retired cabinetmaker with White Furniture Company here. He was the son of the late John H. Holt and Annie Brown Holt. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Harris, Jr., and Mrs. Tommie Evans, both of Mebane; one son, Rev. C.J. Holt of Burlington; three brothers, J.G. Holt of Mebane, L.L. Holt of Burlington and D.J. Holt of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. James Havner of Hickory and Mrs. Ora Mann of Burlington; five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at Mebane Methodist Church by Rev. A.P. Hill, pastor, assisted by Rev. Bennett Walker, pastor of Deep Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak wood Cemetery. The body will remain at Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane until placed in the church to lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
