WILLARD LEE JOHNSON

   BURLINGTON, N.C. – A funeral for Willard Lee Johnson, 62, was held at 10 a.m. 
Tuesday in Front Street United Methodist Church in Burlington by the Rev. Mark 
Kasper and Dr. Edgar Fisher. Rich and Thompson Funeral Home of Burlington was in 
charge. A graveside service was held that afternoon in Rosemont Cemetery, 
Sedley.

   Pallbearers include: Joe Whitaker, Gordan Walker, Clark Newton, Herbert 
Lawrence Duff and Elwin Lowe.

   Johnson died Sunday morning in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkersburg, W. Va.

   A native of Sedley, he had retired as an engineer for Western Electric. He 
was past president of E.N.C. Airstream Club, was vice chairman of the Cherokee 
Council and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Boy Scouts of America.

   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Alice Bryant Johnson of the home; three 
sons, Willard Lee Johnson Jr. of Franklin, Robert F. Johnson of Swanquarter, 
N.C. and Courtney D. Johnson of High Point, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund or Front Street United 
Methodist Church in Burlington.
