Buried June 17 1888

Mr. Melvin was born and raised in North Carolina. He came west state to
state and lived here nearly a score of years. After passing the line of
three score and ten he was stricken with paralysis in January last and
died very suddenly on the day before his burial and after eating dinner
at the table as usual.
