Buried December 14 1896

Sally Palmer was born in Alamance county North Carolina on March 30
1818. Was married to James Melvin in 1839 or thereabouts, came to
Missouri with her husband and four girls in an ox wagon driven with one
line. Was three months on the road, camping over Sundays. The death of
her youngest girl many years ago so prayed upon her mind that she was
never entirely herself again. She was a member of the Methodist church.
