They lived at 108 W. Graham Street, Mebane, North Carolina. (Grandparents). Additional Comments: Grandpa served in WWII. After serving duty he came home, married & worked as a furniture maker until he retired. "C.D.", as some called him,(short for Charles/Charlie Dolph) is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane, NC. Born Dec. 2, 1893. He had a massive stroke on July 2, 1962. The family doctor was called to the home along with other family members, shortly following his stroke. He died in my Dad's arms (bedside)...my Dad is C.J. Holt (Charles James Holt). Charlie Dolphin's (C.D.'s) wife (Fannie Lee)- my Grandmother, was a homemaker and raised the kids. They had 3 children: Pearl Frances Holt, Charles James Holt and Ophelia Holt. Footnote: They also raised a young boy (Kenneth Hightower) as their own (clothed and fed him, gave him a home to live in until he finished school and married and moved away. Kenneth still remembers them as his "parents" to this day.
