Will Book Microfilm Written: November 23, 1870 I William P. Thompson of the County of Alamance and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and disposing memory but considering the uncertainty of any earthly existence do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say first that my executor hereafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay for all funeral expenses together with my just debts out of the first monies that may come into his hands as a part and parcel of my estate. Item first; I want my beloved wife Sally Thompson to have all of my lands and property as long as she may live. It is further my will that my three daughters Bettie, Sallie Caroline and my sister Sallie have a home on my lands as long as they live. I want them to live with my son John A. Thompson . I want my son John A. Thompson at the death of my wife to have my house and lands I now live in with the exception of seventy five acres allowed for my son Joseph A. Thompson lasting in the house John Berry now lives in. It is further my will that at my wifes death that the balance of my property be equally divided between all of my children without a sale. Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John A. Thompson my lawful executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same. In witness thereof I the said William P.
