To All Christian People to Whom these Presents Shall Come Greeting.  Know ye 
that I John Ming attorney of my coz: Valentine Ming of Charles City County in 
Virginia Genten. For & in Consideration of the sum of thirty Pounds current 
Money to and in hand paid by Thomas Blitchenden of North Carolina in Perquimans 
Precinct Planter – Have Given Granted Bargained Sold Conveyed & confirmed and by 
these Presents freely clearly & Absolutely give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Convey 
& Confirm to him the said Thomas Blitchenden to him his heirs Executors Admrs. & 
assigns forever One hundred Acres of land lying & Being in Perquimans precinct 
in No. Caroling lying on the east Side of Mr. James Minges Decd. Land and on the 
west side of Henry Norman Decd commonly called & known by the name of Gore land.  
To Have & to Hold the Said Granted & Bargained Premises with all & singular the 
appurtenances to him the said Thomas Blitchenden & his Heirs & Assigns forever.  
In so full and ample manner to all Intents & Purposes as the Same was Granted or 
Intended by the true & absolute Lords & Proprietors of Carolina By a Patent 
Granted to Capn. John Pettiver Bearing Date in the year 1720 or 1721.  And I the 
Said James Minge for the aforesaid Vallentine Minge Do further covenant & Bind 
myself my Heirs Executors & Admrs firmly by these Presents to Warrant & Defend 
the above Bargained Premises to the Said Thomas Blitchenden his Heirs & Assigns 
forever against any Just and lawfull claim or any person or Persons Whatsoever 
and the said Thomas Blitchenden his Heirs or assigns shall and May from time to 
time and at all times forever hereafter  Have Hold occupy Possess enjoy the said 
Granted & Bargained Premises with all & Singular the appurtenances Peacable & 
quietly 
  In Testimony of Which I the said John Minge attorney of Valentine Minge 
aforesaid have to these presents Set my hand & Seal Dated in No. Carolina this 
30th Day of September 1727 –
