Alexander County, NC – Pool & Flowers Families

This is some information that I found in the 1880 United States Federal 
Census on the African American Pages of www.familysearch.org  The ones 
born before Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, were slaves. However, 
they were only listed in the occupation that they had under servitude.
 
These are my Ancestors. The first listing, Norman Pool is my great 
great grandfather. He is the first child born to his slave mother in 
the United States (Per family ancestors). His mother's name was Lilly. 
There is no record of her that I could find.

As per Clara: James and Alice were probably sold from their family in 
Miller Township, Alexander County, North Carolina. My mother, Cora Bell 
used to talk about Aunt Alice. I hope this helps.
